Fixing Beginner Knitting Mistakes

Don't be afraid of those loops on your needles! This "fix-it" class for beginning knitters will give you better understanding about how knitting works by examining common problems such as twisted, dropped, and extra stitches, and how to correct them by picking up dropped stitches, ripping back, unknitting, and using lifelines.
There is homework for this class which you must do prior to coming to class.

Required Materials:
Yarn: 50 yards light colored worsted weight yarn
Needles: US size 7 or 8 (4.5-5.0 mm) either straight or circular
Accessories: Crochet hook size G or H (4.0-5.0 mm), yarn or tapestry needle

With light colored worsted weight yarn and US size 7 or 8 needles, cast on 20 stitches.
Knit 12 rows in garter stitch (knit every row).
Knit 8 rows in stockinette stitch (knit one row, purl one row).
Knit one more row, leave stitches on the needle, and bring for class.
